The tumuli

The Ohnenheim site (4km south) comprises several tumuli (burial mounds), some of which contained gold jewelry (on display at the Museum of St Germain en Laye) and the famous Celtic chariot (reconstructed at the Museum of Mainz). These tombs were erected by the Celts to honor their dead.
