Street art fresco
The artist worked on an unusual and gigantic structure: the EDF dam in Marckolsheim. At the end of the 6 km of cycle path, your efforts will be rewarded by passing in front of this 200 meter fresco in which we discover the touch of the famous artist: varied influences with nods to Art Nouveau and the style of Alphonse Mucha in the treatment of motifs or female figures. There are also numerous tributes to the cross-border region: in the center the word "Rhine" is spelled in German and French accompanied by the flags of the two countries. Fish, forests, insects and animals also inhabit this fresco. We find the Vosges mountains which dress the background of the work, but also a Lorelei. Banksy's traveling companion, the American Inkie, was chosen in partnership with MAUSA (Museum of Urban Arts and Street Art in Neuf-Brisach) to create one of the largest graffiti walls in Europe by a single artist on the Marckolsheim dam. This monumental work, painted in just 10 days, required nearly 600 spray cans.
Access permitted only to pedestrians and cyclists. The path starts along the canal next to the locks (right bank)
