Fish pass - Steinsau dam

The Steinsau dam is equipped with a successive basin pass. It has 8 basins with 15 cm high steps which compensate for a difference in height of 1,2 m.

The structure has been completely rebuilt and also includes six fish-compatible Archimedean screws that produce electricity. These turbines appear to have a lower impact on downstream species (such as salmon and eels).

The Steinsau is equipped with a video counting system consisting of four light panels and cameras connected to a computer. These panels are easily transportable, which is why, in the long term, this station will be used as required and as part of studies on other structures.
