Discover how the pass allows migratory fish to cross an obstacle in their path by going around it.
The EDF Gerstheim power station is now equipped with a fish pass based on the innovative method of the Strasbourg power station, which was commissioned in 2016. It will allow fish, particularly salmon, to travel upstream to Switzerland, in accordance with the commitments made by the French government as part of the European Rhine 2020 programme.
The development in figures: 400 meters long and 5,5 m wide (natural pass) - 3400 m3 of concrete and 270 tonnes of reinforcement - 35,000 m3 of earthworks - 8000 shrubs and plants planted along the pass - 15 million euros (total budget including studies) financed by EDF and the Rhine-Meuse Water Agency.
