The Gardens of Gaia
“We drink tea to forget the noise of the world.”
Lu Yü, tea master during the Tang Dynasty (618-907)
On the outskirts of the village of Wittisheim, in Central Alsace, the tea house, shop, production site, and offices make this exceptional island the nerve center of the activities of Les Jardins de Gaïa. From Eastern France and beyond, Les Jardins de Gaïa deploys and expands its passion for tea.
A tea house in the heart of the village
Nestled in the shelter of a bamboo grove and surrounded by six Japanese gardens, the Tea House is a unique place conducive to well-being. Visitors can enjoy the latest creations or participate in a tea ceremony in a cozy atmosphere. Open to the world and the arts, the Tea House regularly hosts artists and performances, providing an additional opportunity to linger and appreciate the moment.
In the store next to the Tea House, all of the brand's products are represented: from the latest arrivals to accessories, including the Terra Madre range of spices and herbal teas.
Tea House Events:
The annual program of the Tea House is more generous each year: tea ceremonies and tastings (Chinese method or Japanese ceremony), exhibitions, stories around the teapot, tea aperitifs, themed evenings (food and tea pairings, teas and wines, etc.), Médi'thé workshops... Not forgetting the open days which are the annual meeting place for the curious and lovers of spring firsts from China, India and Japan, the opportunity to discover the secrets behind the scenes of the Jardins de Gaïa. > By registration
The Tea School
Among the activities of Les Jardins de Gaïa, sharing a passion for tea is a natural fit. With the Tea School and various workshops offered in the Tea House, the company offers its customers the opportunity to expand their knowledge.
Dedicated to the study of this ancient drink, the Jardins de Gaïa Tea School opens your senses to capture its secrets. Sessions consist of practical workshops and/or theoretical classes in small groups, and explore the different facets of tea (historical, botanical, biological, societal, etc.). For beginners or experienced tea drinkers, everyone will find something they like and awaken their senses. > Registration required
