Sabine MAITRE's Workshop

Sabine Maître-Fahrlaender establishes an emotional and intimate dialogue between this wild nature and man. Man, who, through his quest for the absolute, creates ever more fascinating constructions on this earth of which he is perhaps only a humble passenger. But the message remains strong, and the hieratic and sober forms of her sculptures question us. In her studio, she welcomes various driftwood collected in Greece, Italy, Colorado, Yellowstone, Montana or simply close to home, to transfigure them through fire, various oxidations of metal and the transparency of glass. The artist thus imprints a trace filled with beauty and emotion nourished by this strange man/nature dilemma.
