The walk on the island allows you to become aware of the importance of water dynamics and regular flooding, which is the origin of an exceptional wealth of flora and fauna.
Marked trail with interpretive panels: A village and its island - Birth of the island of Rhinau. The island is located between the canalized Rhine and the old course of the Rhine. Two loops, the dike loop and the flood loop, make this circuit special. The flood loop is impassable during periods of Rhine flooding, which sometimes occur in winter but most often in May-June when the snows of the Alps melt. This is the Kirschenrhein or Cherry Rhine.
