Discovery tour of the village of Hindisheim
Discover a village rich in heritage with over 150 half-timbered houses. Around sixty of these are dated by inscriptions on their corner posts, ranging from 1596 for the oldest to 1885 for the most recent, allowing visitors to trace the evolution of the Alsatian house. The 14th-century chapel, dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the Fourteen Holy Helpers, is the only chapel in Alsace with a half-timbered bell tower.
On the column dating from the year 2000, one can discover the various names of the village from the 8th century to the present day. At the entrance to the village, a sign proudly displays the two flowers awarded by the Towns and Villages in Bloom competition.
At the end of this walk, the history of our ancestors, the village and the half-timbered house will hold no more secrets for you.
